Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2012 Carlina Duran was reportedly dethroned today by the country’s organization after they found out that she was adivorced woman, which is a violation of the pageant’s regulations.
According to an article on Diario Social, the announcement to dethrone Carlina Duran was made by franchise holder Magali Febles, who organizes the MissDominican Republic Universe competition since 2004. Febles said that Duran will be replaced by the 1st runner-up, Dulcita Lieggi Francisco. “We had no choice but to take away her title”, she said. The coronation of Lieggi as the new Dominicanrepresentative in Miss Universe will take place on Wednesday.
However, a lot of netizens raised the question: “If Miss Universe allow TRANSEXUALS to join them why not DIVORCED WOMEN?”

Miss World Ivian Sarcos is right now in Cannes, France as a special guest during the MIPTV showcase.  During the second day of the event, Sarcos posed in the red carpet as well as with celebrities and gave some interviews for the media.(GB)

Miss Earth Reunion 2012

Aisha Valy (22, from Entre-Deux) was crowned Miss Earth Reunion 2012 during ceremony held at the Sainte-Clotilde Exhibition Centre on April 1st.

The competition, which included 10 beauties from all over the French island, was honoured by the visit of reigning Miss Earth Olga Alava from Ecuador who was also president of the jury.

Anais Sadeyen was chosen Miss Earth Fire, Estenie Sadeyen is Miss Earth Air, and Solenne Abarnou is Miss Earth Water.

Valy will represent Reunion in the Miss Earth 2012 competition to be held in December.

Miss Universe Croatia 2012

18-year old Elizabeta Burg from Vrbanja was crowned Miss Universe Croatia 2012 during the annual event held at the Westin hotel in Zagreb on April 1st. Elizabeta, who is a student of veterinary medicine stands 178 cm tall and will represent Croatia at the Miss Universe 2012 pageant in December.

Model Rachel Hunter to judge Miss World Fiji 2012

Supermodel Rachel Hunter will be one of the celebrity judges that will be in the jury to select Fiji’s representative to Miss World 2012. Hunter, the former wife of singer Rod Stewart, will be in Suva next month to choose Fiji’s candidate to the Miss World 2012.

Ms Hunter’s participation takes the event up another notch with the attendance by the reigning Miss World, Ivian Sarcos from Venezuela and Chairman of Miss World, Mrs Julia Morley.

The star studded event will begin on the 19th of April with a private judging with the semi finalists before the ‘Fire and Ice’ theme cocktail fundraiser in aid of Mental Health Fiji on the 20th and the live finals on April 21st. Laura Dandovic, Miss Universe Australia 2008, will also judge.

This will be the first time Fiji plays host to a reigning Miss World and Supermodel at one event.

The winner will represent Oceania’s island at the Miss World 2012 competition in Ordos, China, August 18th. (GB)

Miss Universe Japan 2012

Ayako Hara, a 24-year old model from Miyagi prefecture, was crowned Miss Universe Japan 2012 on April 1st.  Ayako stands 170 cm tall and will represent Japan at the Miss Universe 2012 pageant in December. Sora Yoshimura was the first runner-up and Yukimi Matsui was the second runner-up.(GB)

KIEV, March 31 — 21-year old Karina Zhironkyna from Kharkiv was crowned Miss Ukraine 2012 during the 20th anniversary of the event held at the Kiev National Opera Theatre on March 30th.  Zhironkina, who was chosen Miss Fashion TV back in 2007, stands 177 cm tall and will compete in the Miss World 2012 contest to be held in Ordos, China, in August.

The 1st runner-up was 20-year old Olga Rubanova from Odessa and the 2nd runner-up was Margarita Ivaschenko, from Sevastopol.  Natalia Dunich from Lvov was named the 3rd runner-up.
