Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2012 Carlina Duran was reportedly dethroned today by the country’s organization after they found out that she was adivorced woman, which is a violation of the pageant’s regulations.
According to an article on Diario Social, the announcement to dethrone Carlina Duran was made by franchise holder Magali Febles, who organizes the MissDominican Republic Universe competition since 2004. Febles said that Duran will be replaced by the 1st runner-up, Dulcita Lieggi Francisco. “We had no choice but to take away her title”, she said. The coronation of Lieggi as the new Dominicanrepresentative in Miss Universe will take place on Wednesday.
