IRING-IRINGAN tiga mobil dan dua motor fore rider berangkat dari RCTI, Kebon Jeruk, Jakarta menuju Bandara Soekarno Hatta. Perjalanan sekira 30 menit oleh rombongan RCTI ini dilakukan untuk menjemput Miss World 2010 dan rombongan.

Pesawat Cathay Pacific yang membawa Miss World 2010, Alexandria Mills dan rombongan tiba di terminal kedatangan luar negeri Bandara Soekarno Hatta, Cengkareng, Jakarta, tepat pukul 13.30 WIB. Alexandria tampil cantik memakai blus berdetail ruffles warna peach dipadu blazer hitam, rok mini warna abu-abu, dan sepatu warna senada.

Miss Indonesia 2010 Asyifa Latief yang anggun mengenakan gaun warna merah marun memberikan buket bunga dan sebuah paket berisi sebotol wine dan buah-buahan kepada Alexandria. Keriuhan pengunjung bandara turut menyambut kedatangan Miss World asal Amerika Serikat ini.

Ketika ditanya okezone perihal perjalanannya, ia menjawab, "Wonderful. It's so wonderful." Alexandria mengucapkan, "Yes", ketika ditanya kembali soal kunjungannya pertama ke Indonesia.

Alexandria bergegas menaiki mobil Jaguar warna merah marun bernomor polisi B 230 QR bersama Asyifa Latief sedangkan rombongan lain menaiki Jaguar silver.

Tidak tampak Julia Morley, Chairwoman Miss World Organization dalam rombongan. Salah satu anggota rombongan mengatakan Julia tidak bisa hadir lantaran harus menghadiri acara keluarga.

Kini, iring-iringan enam mobil Miss World dan RCTI bergegas menuju Grand Hyatt Hotel Jakarta untuk menghadiri konferensi pers yang diadakan pukul 14.00 WIB.

Tujuan utama Alexandria ke Indonesia adalah menghadiri malam puncak pemilihan Miss Indonesia yang akan dihelat di Central Park Jakarta, Jumat (3/6/2011) malam.(tty)

Alexandria Mills and Emma Wareus present Awards

The 20th Annual Property Awards Lunch (the PROPs) in aid of Variety, The Children’s Charity was held at London’s Hilton Park Lane yesterday, with Miss World Alexandria Mills and Miss World Africa Emma Wareus on stage to present the awards to the winners. Recipients and guests included Deputy Mayor of London Richard Barnes and PROPs Ambassador Matt King who, paralysed from the neck down from an injury playing in his first professional rugby match, has since received help and support from the PROPs and Variety.

Cambridge Union Society welcomes Miss World

Miss World Alexandria Mills and Miss World Africa Emma Wareus impressed the gathered students and alumni of the University of Cambridge as they delivered speeches in the famous Debating Hall of the Cambridge Union Society. Invited to speak by the world’s oldest and most prestigious debating society, it gave the assembled audience a chance to hear about all aspects of what it means to be Miss World.

Alexandria’s speech, entitled “More Than I Could Ever Imagine”, focused on her experiences of becoming Miss World, and how it has changed her life, offering a personal and emotional insight into her time as Miss World. Emma explained the role of Beauty with a Purpose and the international charity work that is at the heart of Miss World, as well as different perspectives in Botswana, Africa, and around the world. Together they spoke for over an hour, and the enthusiastic response from the audience continued as they spent a further hour and a half meeting and speaking with those in attendance, answering further questions.
Earlier in the day, Alexandria and Emma met with students and society members for a tour of Cambridge and the University campus, and enjoyed a traditional punting boat trip along the River Cam.
