Miss Venezuela Universe 2001 dies of cancer

Eva Ekvall, Miss Venezuela and 3rd runner-up at Miss Universe 2001, died after a long battle against cancer. She discovered that she had breast cancer not long after giving birth to her first and only child. She wrote a book telling her experience entitled “Out of Focus”.
We covered the Miss Universe in 2001, when Eva competed. She was intelligent, had a strong personality, and was undeniably beautiful. We feel tremendously for this awful loss.
Eva died at the early age of 28.

Irene Esser was crowned Miss Venezuela 2011 or Miss Venezuela Universe 2012. Gabriella Ferrari was crowned Miss Venezuela World 2012. Blanca Aljibes was crowned Miss Venezuela International 2012. Osmariel Villalobos was crowned Miss Earth Venezuela 2012.

Angela Ruiz selected Miss Supranational Venezuela 2011

Road to Miss Supranational 2011:
Angela Ruiz, the first runner-up of Miss Venezuela 2010, has been chosen by Miss Venezuela Organization’s President Osmel Sousa to represent the country at Miss Supranational 2011 to be held in Opole, Poland, on August 20th.

Ruiz said that she has been preparing for the contest since she was given the news, with the objective of winning the crown. The 21-year old model, who stands 1.80 m in height, participated in the International Queen of Coffee pageant last January, where she was the 1st runner-up. She also took part in contests like Top Model of the Year, Elite Model Latina and Supermodel of Venezuela. Angela represented Monagas in the last edition of the Miss Venezuela pageant, where she came in 5th place (named 1st runner-up).

This will be the 3rd edition of the Miss Supranational pageant.
