Miss Philippines, Bea Rose Santiago (23, from Masbate City), scored another Grand Slam title for her country by bagging the Miss International crown during the 53rd edition of the pageant held at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel Hall in Tokyo on December 17th.Global Beauties 

Reina Hispanoamericana 2013

Miss Colombia, Maria Alejandra Lopez, was crowned Reina Hispanoamericana (Hispano-American Queen) 2013 during the annual event held at the Ventura Mall in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, on December 13th.

The 2nd place (“Virreina”) went to Miss Dominican Republic, Yaritza Reyes; while Venezuela (Gabriela Graff) and Chile (Maria Jose Barrena) finished in 3rd and 4th places respectively.

Mexico, Puerto Rico, Paraguay and Bolivia completed the Top 8 finalists.  23 contestants competed in the pageant organized by Promociones Gloria.

Maria-Anna Weiling Zenieris, 18, was crowned Miss World Singapore 2013, at the Pan Pacific Hotel, on July 28. She will represent Singapore in Miss World 2013, in Jakarta, Indonesia, on September 28. Elizabeth Houghton was the first runner-up and Rachel Leng was the second runner-up.




Julie Lebrasseur, 19, 1.82 m-tall, is the winner of Martinique Queens 2013, grabing the sash and crown of Miss World Martinique. She will represent Martinique in Miss World 2013, in Jakarta, Indonesia, on September 28. Cindy Jolie won the title Miss Supranational Martinique 2013. She will compete in Miss Supranational 2013, in Minsk, Belarus,

Miss Supranational Myanmar 2013

Khin Wint Wah, a 19-year old student of Botany, was chosen Miss Supranational Myanmar 2013 and will represent Myanmar at the 2013 Miss Supranational finals to be held in Minsk, Belarus, September 6th.   

Nuestra Belleza Paraguay 2013

The Paraguayan representatives for Miss Universe, Miss World, and other international pageants, were chosen last night in the city of Asuncion.

Miss Paraguay for Miss Universe is María Guadalupe González Talavera, 21, 1.78 m-tall, from Lambare. She will compete in Miss Universe 2013, in Moscow, Russia, on November 9.

Miss Paraguay for Miss World is Coral Ruiz Reyes, 22, 1.75 m-tall, from Asuncion. She will now get ready to compete in Miss World 2013, in Jakarta, Indonesia, on September 28.

Martha Raviolo is Miss Paraguay International 2013 and Laura Garcete is Miss Paraguay United Continent 2013.

The event was once again organized by Promociones Gloria, the same producer of Miss Bolivia and Hispano-American Queen contests. (Global Beauties)

Miss Supranational Panama 2013

Yinnela Yohan Yero Torres, a 23-year old TV presenter and model, was crowned Miss Supranational Panama 2013during a cocktail ceremony held at the Hard Rock Hotel Panama Megapolis on May 29th.  Yinnela, who holds a degree in maritime business, stands 1.79 m tall and will represent the country in the Miss Supranational 2013 competition to be held in Minsk, Belarus, on September 6th.

The event was hosted by former Miss Panama and TV host Stefanie de Roux, with the participation of Nadege Herrera (5th runner-up in Miss World 2009) and Karina Pinilla (Miss Supranational 2010). Elissa Estrada, Miss Supranational Americas 2012 crowned the new titleholder.  Both crowns were designed by Panamanian artist Gustavo Carrera.

Yinnela will also wear a national costume designed by local artist Daniel Cortina. Congratulations!

Miss Universe Canada organization releases results

The 2013 Miss Universe Canada pageant took place on Saturday, May 25 at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts in Toronto.  During the validation of the computerized scoring results (which occurs the following day), a typo was discovered in the top 5 entries, which significantly impacted the final results of the competition.  This is the first instance of this type of error in the 11 years that Beauties of Canada (BOC) has produced the Miss Universe Canada pageant.

This is an unfortunate circumstance where a human error was made, and in such a situation, as difficult as it is, it is only right to correct the error.  Therefore, the official results of Miss Universe Canada 2013 are as follows:

Miss Universe Canada 2013 ­ Riza Santos (Calgary, AB)

1st runner-up ­ Siera Bearchell (Moose Jaw, SK)

2nd runner-up ­ Diana Martin (Mississauga, ON)

3rd runner-up ­ Denise Garrido (Bradford, ON)

4th runner-up ­ Michelle McKay (Sarnia, ON)

We would like to offer our sincere apology to Denise Garrido for this human error discovered while validating the results. Miss Garrido’s example and grace represents all we look for at Miss Universe Canada. We have no doubt she will continue to succeed in her endeavours and we wish her well. We truly hope she remains a strong part of the Miss Universe Canada Organization.

Beauties of Canada congratulates Riza Santos as the winner of Miss Universe Canada 2013 competition, and looks forward to working with her as she prepares to represent our country at Miss Universe 2013. BOC would also like to congratulate all the runners-up on their proper placements at the pageant, as well as the other 52 extraordinary young women who competed for the title in Toronto.

Riza Santos is 26 years old and stands 1.70 m tall. This Calgary beauty was born in Canada to Filipino parents and has worked as a professional actress in the Philippines.   Not a stranger to the ‘Grand Slam’ scene, Riza represented Canada in the Miss World 2011 competition in London.  She will now compete in the Miss Universe 2013 pageant in December.
