Kanishtha Dhankhar crowned Pantaloons Femina Miss India World 2011

Mumbai, April 15 (IANS) Kanishtha Dhankhar was crowned Pantaloons Femina Miss India World 2011 at a gala event here Thursday night. She will represent India at the global pageant later this year.
Ankita Shorey was crowned Miss India International 2011, while Hasleen Kaur is Miss India Earth 2011.
The event saw scintillating performances by Anushka Sharma, Malaika Arora Khan, Hard Kaur and Sonakshi Sinha, music band SQS and television actors Gaurav Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput, Harshad Chopra and Gaurav Chopra.
The finalists were judged by personalities like Kangna Ranaut, Dino Morea, Fardeen Khan, Urmila Matondkar, Ritu Kumar, Shiamak Davar, Leander Paes, Tarun Mansukhani and Sajid Nadiadwala.
Last year, Sushmita Sen's production company Tantra Entertainment had been awarded the India franchise to select participant for the Miss Universe contest and the winner - Ushoshi Sengupta had represented India at the international pageant.
Other than the crowning of Miss India, Nadiadwala also announced Ankita Mohapatra as the winner of the Bollywood Diva title, who will be cast in a forthcoming film under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner.

Shamcey Supsup Crowned Binibining Pilipinas Miss Universe Philippines 2011 is Shamcey Supsup.

Shamcey Supsup of General Santos was crowned Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2011 or Miss Universe Philippines 2011 during the annual show held at the Araneta Coliseum on April 10th. Shamcey is 24 year old and stands. She will represent her country in Miss Universe 2011, on September 12, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Dianne Necio, a native from Albay, was crowned Binibining Pilipinas-International, giving her right to compete at the Miss International 2011 Pageant in China, and Isabella Manjon of Pasig City was crowned as the new Binibining Pilipinas-Tourism.

Michaela Ňurciková was crowned Miss Slovensko 2011 on April 9, 2011 at the Sibamac Arena in Bratislava. Michaela is 20 year old and stands 1.78 m. She will represent her country in Miss World 2011 Pageant.The first runner-up was Dušana Lukáčová. She is 19 year old and stands 1.70 m. She will represent her country in Miss International 2011.The second runner-up was Ľubica Kvasnicová. She is 23 year old and stands 1.74 m.

Crowned Mister Latvia 2011 And Miss Latvia 2011

Edvīns Ločmelis won the Misters Latvija 2011 or Mister Latvia 2011 title on April 8, 2011 during the Fiesta Expo celebrated at the Kipsala International Exhibition Centre in Riga. Edwin comes from Gulbene and stands 1.87 m tall. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business administarion and speaks Latvian, Russian, English and French. The first runner-up was Andis Vēveris and the second runner-up was 

Jānis Beķers.

Alise Miškovska was crowned Mis Latvija 2011 or Miss Latvia 2011 on April 8, 2011 at the Kipsala International Exhibition Centre in Riga. Alise Miškovska is 23 year old and stands 5’9”. She will represent Latvia in Miss World 2011 Pageant. The first runner-up was Lelde Paulsone and and the second runner-up was Oksana Užgalova.

Antonella Kruger Crowned Miss Mundo Argentina 2011

Antonella Kruger was crowned Miss Mundo Argentina 2011 or Miss Argentina World 2011 on April 8, 2011 at City Center Rosario in Rosario.Antonella Kruger of Buenos Aries is 18 year old and stands 5’9”. She will represent Argentina in Miss World 2011 pageant. The 1st Runner-up was Miss Salta Camila Valdés; Rocío Damiano of Santa Fe was the 2nd Runner-up.

Castings take place in the search of Miss T&T Universe

Castings have started in the search of the new Miss Trinidad & Tobago Universe. A second set of screening of participants for the local leg of the Miss Universe competition began yesterday.

A panel of judges, including Jacqui Koon How, Sharon Imbert, Christopher Nathan, Nigel Eastman and franchise holder Ian Lee, had an opportunity to look at 11 young ladies at the San Fernando City Hall Auditorium.

Of the 11, five were chosen to move forward for an opportunity to represent Trinidad and Tobago in Sao Paolo, Brazil, in September. Next Saturday, the panel moves to Tobago, and the following Saturday, April 16, to Port of Spain where ten more young ladies will be selected.

The date for the finals is yet to be announced. Among those chosen was Gabrielle Walcott, Miss T&T World 2008, and 2nd runner-up in Miss World 2008.

Bahamas news: meet the Sportswoman Fast track event winner

Miss Lucky Restaurant Sasha Joyce won the Miss Bahamas 2011 Sportswoman Fast track Event & gains automatic entry into the Miss Bahamas 2011 pageant finals.

The new Miss Bahamas, who will compete in Miss World and Miss Universe 2011, will be crowned on May 2.

Miss France titleholders reunite in Mauritius

Sylvie Tellier, director of the Miss France pageant, organized a trip to the paradise Island of Mauritius to reunite former Miss France titleholders.
Laury Thilleman (2011), Malika Menard (2010), Chloe Mortaud (2009), Rachel Legrain-Trapani (2007), Alexandra Rosenfeld (2006) and Tellier herself (2002) posed for photos in exotic places all over the island.
Tellier was named President of the Miss France contest after the exit of controversial Madame Genevieve de Fontenay last year.  The Miss France pageant is produced by TF1 and Endemol and holds the licenses for Miss Universe and Miss World.
